250g of cooked spagetti
1 (400g) can tomato puree
1kg of truss tomatoes diced
2 cloves garlic
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1⁄4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
1⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1⁄4 cup Parmesan
Pre-made meatballs
Basil for garnish
In a large pot, heat olive oil on medium to high heat. Add raw meatball of your choice (pre-made/store bought), cook for 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic, cook for a further 5 minutes. Remove from pan and let rest.
Add all remaining ingredients to the pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Add meatballs and onions back into the pan. Simmer for a further 10 minutes.
Cook pasta in a pot of boiling water, cook till al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water (use if needed).
Plate up pasta then load on meatballs and sauce. Add basil garnish.
